Listening. Observing. Acting.
Priorities
My priorities come from listening to our community and seeing firsthand the challenges facing our schools.
Throughout this campaign, I’ve spoken with parents, educators, students, and community members about their experiences and hopes for Chicago Public Schools. Those conversations, along with my experience as a parent, community member, business owner, and public servant, have reinforced one belief: we must listen and understand before we make decisions.
These three priorities are the foundation of the work I will bring to the Board:
Raise the Standard.
High expectations and academic excellence for every child.
Protect the Classroom.
Safe schools, supported educators, engaged families, and strong communities.
Demand Accountability.
A meaningful parent voice, transparent leadership, and responsible use of every public dollar.
Students First. Families Heard. Results Matter.

Raise the Standard
Academic Standards & Student Achievement
Every child deserves an excellent education, regardless of their ZIP code, neighborhood, or family income.
We cannot close opportunity gaps by lowering expectations. Equity means giving every student the support necessary to meet high standards and reach their full potential.
I will advocate for clear academic goals, early intervention for students who are struggling, support for effective teaching, opportunities for advanced learning, and transparent measurement of whether programs are actually improving student outcomes.
As a Board member, I will ask a simple question: Are our children learning and growing?
When something is working, we should understand why and find ways to build on it. When something is not working, we should be willing to ask why, make changes, and put resources where they can make a difference.
High standards. Strong support. Student achievement.
Protect the Classroom
Safe Schools, Strong Families & Supported Educators
Students cannot reach their full potential if they do not feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. Educators cannot do their best work without the tools, support, and environment they need to succeed.
Every school should be safe, welcoming, disciplined, and focused on learning.
That means listening to students, parents, educators, principals, and safety professionals before making decisions. It means recognizing that every school and community has different needs and developing practical, school-specific approaches to safety and student support.
It also means treating parents as partners, supporting educators, and strengthening the connections between schools, families, community organizations, businesses, and public agencies.
I will bring 32 years of service to the country and community, including 26 years in law enforcement, to these conversations—but I will also bring something just as important: a willingness to listen and understand before deciding what needs to be done.
Safe schools. Supported educators. Strong families. Strong communities.

Demand Accountability
Transparency, Responsible Resources & A Stronger Parent Voice
Chicago families and taxpayers invest billions of dollars in public education. They deserve to know where that money is going, why decisions are being made, and whether those decisions are helping students.
Parents should also have a meaningful voice in the decisions affecting their children's schools—not simply an opportunity to speak after those decisions have already been made.
As a Board member, I will ask the questions taxpayers and parents expect their representatives to ask:
What are we spending?
What result are we expecting?
Is it working?
And how does this help students?
I will advocate for greater transparency around budgets, contracts, programs, and academic outcomes. I will regularly engage with parents and community members, bring their concerns to the Board, and communicate back about the decisions being made.
Every public dollar should have a purpose. And that purpose should ultimately benefit students.
I will work to be an independent, accessible, and accountable voice on the Board—one that listens first, works collaboratively, and never loses sight of who our school system exists to serve.
Every dollar accountable. Every voice heard. Students first.
